RV Awning Travel Lock:
Ideal Gift for an RVer!
Why is the RV Awning Travel Lock Such a Great Gift?
There are many reasons. Some of them are:
- It's useful!
- Your RVer probably doesn't have one.
- Your RVer probably doesn't even know they exist!
- It'll keep them busy for about an hour installing it.
- It could save hundreds, even thousands, of dollars.
- It's of very high quality, so they'll know that you cared enough to get the very best.
What Does an RV Awning Travel Lock Do?
While traveling down the road in an RV, occassionally an awning will unfurl. This results in a mini-disaster if the awning material is ripped and the support arms may be torn off the coach. Sometimes they flail around and poke holes in the roof of the coach.
This does not happen to everyone, and may never happen to your favorite RVer. But believe me, you do not want it to happen!! Ever.
The RV Awning Travel Lock greatly minimizes the possiblity that such an event will dampen travels.
What is it?
The RV Awning Travel Lock is an RV accessory which is attached to the awning rafter. It is sturdy, attractive, easy to install, and even easier to use. And it is effective!
In the locked postion, there is a steel pin which extends into a hole in the awning's roller tube and prevents it from rotating. If the tube can't rotate, the awning can't unfurl!
This awning lock was developed and patented by RVers with decades of RV experience. A picture of the RV Awning Travel Lock for manually operated awnings is there on the right.
Will it Fit the Awning on My RV?
Probably. Most RV awnings are made by Carefree or A & E, and the RV Awning Travel Lock fits most of these, and probably some others.
The standard lock is fits A & E and Carefree manually-operated awnings, with the exception of the A & E Two Step. This is the lock you'll be sent if you don't specify that you want some other model of RV Awning Travel Lock.
Order a "Model B" lock if your awning is an A & E Weather Pro motorized awning or if it is the Two Step manual awning.
Is it Hard to Install the RV Awning Travel Lock?
No. If your RVer is handy with tools, can follow written directions with pictures, and is a bit careful, he or she can probably install it in less than an hour. (Some have told me they did it in ten minutes, but they hurried! Take your time and enjoy the process!)
By the way, each awning only requires one lock. It mounts on the left end of the awning, as you face the coach.
And remember, if the one doing the installing has a question he opr she can always send me an email or call me on my toll-free 800 number!
They're Really Proud of Their Coach. Will This Make it Look Ugly?
Not at all. In fact, most people will not even notice it. (That's too bad for me; I wish more people would notice it, ask about it, and order one!)
The RV Awning Travel Lock is painted white to match most awning arms. It is small and attractive. It looks like it is part of the awning. (We think it should have been!)
What's the Price?
Each RV Awning Travel Lock is $39.95. Shipping and Handling is $3.95 per order, not per lock. (This shipping charge is based on the "old" postage rate and will be held at least through December 31, 2007.) Get together with a friend and make two RVers happy and save a few bucks!
